COMMUNITY RALLIES FOR SAFE BIRTH SUPPLIES

More than 80 people gathered in Floreat last Saturday to assemble 1000 birthing kits.

Each kit contains soap, plastic sheet, gloves, gauze, cord ties and a sterile blade and is designed to make the process of giving birth safer for mothers in developing countries.

Jasmina Nikolovski, a year-12 student at Duncraig Senior High School, has set her sights on becoming a human rights lawyer which is aligned with her interest in refugee rights. She received the Zonta Club of Perth Northern Suburbs’ 2022 ‘Young Women in Public Affairs Award’ at a Presentation Dinner at Hillarys Yacht Club on 3 August.
